Allahabad Fort, Bade Hanuman Mandir and Anand Bhawan are close by and make up a full day.
Boats leave from the ghat near the fort and go to the point where the rivers meet. Rates are generally per boat and you should agree the price and time before boarding. During the Magh Mela and Kumbh periods tent cities and large crowds change the routes.
By road Prayagraj is about 3 hours from Varanasi. It is also well connected by train and has an airport. Cars can reach the area near the fort and the Sangam.
